Ashadam Hospital Association (AHA) is a registered society and trust, registered under Societies registration Act 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act 1950,Vide Rg. No. 147/ 73 (C ) dated on 22^nd Nov. 1973 and F-218(C ) dated on 30^th Jan. 1974 respectively.

Genesis: Ashadham Hospital was started by our pioneering missionary Sisters about 50 years ago in the Mission Diocese of Chanda. Initially it started with a small dispensary to cater the ordinary ailments of the people of Wirur and surrounding villages. Later it developed to cater primary health care of the people with maternity care in and around 7 villages. Now it turned into a 28 bedded hospital with different extension services and catering about 70 villages of twin states i.e. Maharashtra and Telangana as it situated on the border of two states. It has the following facilities:-

Laboratory, X-ray, Operation Theatre, Labor room Etc. The hospital provides care to all kinds of patients irrespective of cast, creed and religion. Being a charitable institution the emphasis is laid on providing healthcare to the economically backward and marginalized people who are unable to pay even the minimum user charges.

Besides providing regular health care services, AHA also provides free investigation, medicine and food to the poor patients who come from interior villages of Maharashtra and Telangana.

Counselling is provided for the chronically ill patients like HIV/Cancer etc. as well as to their relatives free of cost.

Regular visits are made to the families of our patients in the near by villages and organize  awareness camps on the importance of literacy, health, personal hygiene, social evils like smoking, drinking, dowry, child marriage etc.  

The hospital also conducts weekly programs for the teenage girls, so as to educate them in physical, mental and life skill education.

AHA promoted youth clubs in villages on secular basis and strive in inculcating human values to eradicate social evils like superstition, alcoholism, wife beating, dowry, exploitation etc. to empower the youth for social change.

The  another  social force of AHA is women from rural area for which untiring efforts were being made for their integral development by forming Mahila Mandals, Self Help Groups  and educating them on perpetual way for their empowerment.

Ashadham hospital and convent Which is situated in a rural are called Wirur,Rajura(Tq),Chandrapur (Dt),Maharashtra state,India, started in the year 1966 February 2nd in a humble way with the above mentioned VISION MISSION &POLICY in answer to the invitation by the then Bishop of Chanda Diocese Bp. Janvarios. Amidst many struggles and problems we could see the hands of our saviour Jesus Christ and we are very sure that His protection and care only made us to grow till this stage.

This organisation is part of the congregation of THE SISTERS OF THE DESTITUTE,KRUPADHAM PROVINCE founded by the Servant of God  Rev.Fr.Varghese Payyappilly.
